Nominations Sought.
Two Ordinary Member places are currently vacant on the Executive Committee. As announced at the AGM on 4th January 2004, it is proposed to fill these places using the Society's new remote voting procedure, which was agreed at the 2003 AGM.
As has previously been the practice at the Society's elections, members seeking to stand for these places on the committee must have been nominated and seconded by members of the Society. Nominations and secondings should be sent to the Administrative Secretary, by 11.59pm on 1st September 2004, at the following address:
Dr Gavin BudgeMembers standing should supply an election statement and a picture of themselves. These will be posted up on the Society's website and will also be printed in the autumn Bulletin, in which a postal voting form will also be included.
It should be noted that Executive Committee members are required to attend the meetings of the Executive Committee, which are held in London, and that in the event of non-attendance at two meetings successively members risk being removed from the Committee. The Society will only pay travelling expenses for Executive Committee members within the UK.
Voting arrangements
Arrangements are currently being made to conduct this election online, via the Society's website, though it will also be possible for members to vote postally if they prefer. Online voting will be available from 1st November 2004. Voting will close at 11:59pm on 15th December.
In order to vote, members must be in good standing with their subscription to the society. For the purposes of the election, this will be interpreted as not more than a year overdue with subscription payments.
