Conference Mentoring Scheme

Are you attending the 2027 BSECS Conference in person? Would you like to be mentored by an established scholar working in eighteenth century studies? Could you act as a mentor?

The BSECS Conference Mentoring Scheme is targeted at new and existing BSECS members and aims to provide further opportunities for all BSECS members to meet one another, face-to-face, at the BSECS Annual Conference.

BSECS members participating in the scheme will be matched based on research interests, when possible. Participants are encouraged to contact their mentor/mentee in advance of the BSECS Annual Conference in January 2027. Contact details will be shared with matched pairs in December.

At the conference, contact details will also be available on request, at the registration desk. During the conference there will be a range of opportunities for mentors/mentees to meet one another face-to-face at Pembroke College, at either the social events organised by the conference or in one of the social spaces at the College.

You can sign up for the mentoring scheme, as either a mentor or a mentee, as conference registration opens.

Information about the deadline for applications to the mentor/mentee scheme will be circulated in November and December 2026, prior to the 2027 BSECS conference in January 2027.
