The Criticks website provides entertaining, informative and provocative reviews of events and media that are of interest to scholars of the eighteenth century.
Run by the British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, and in association with the Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies, Criticks invites experts in the field to consider in depth contemporary engagements with the ideas and culture of the eighteenth century. Its remit includes but is not limited to: plays, concerts, operas, exhibitions, films, broadcasts and online resources. As media changes and evolves, Criticks continues to be proactive in seeking out new and experimental mediums through which contemporary audiences encounter the eighteenth-century imaginary.
Criticks is read by BSECS members from across the globe, guaranteeing exposure of the work reviewed to a large, specialist and international audience.
If you are involved in a production, event, artefact, resource or broadcast that you would like us to review, please contact one of our editors and we can arrange for an expert reviewer to access your work.
