Caricaturist and cartoonist Adrian Teal has written ‘The Gin-Lane Gazette’ a compendium of highlights from a fictional Georgian ‘tabloid’ dealing with true stories of scandal and intrigue in London and beyond. He will read stories dealing with Handel’s notorious gluttony; the scandalous Cibber family; the Foundling Hospital’s founders; and Dr Johnson and Jonas Hanway’s war of words over the dangers of tea-drinking. The event will take place at the Handel House Museum in Handel’s own music room.
