New guide to intellectual history Back

Samuel Woodall, a PhD researcher at the University of Buckingham and founder of The Intellectual Historian, has published a freely accessible guide, “What Does an Intellectual Historian Study?” Introducing approaches including the history of ideas, the Annales tradition and the Cambridge School, it explores how historians interpret texts within their historical contexts. With practical examples and suggestions for further reading, the guide offers students, researchers and interested readers an accessible starting point for studying ideas, including eighteenth-century political thought.
