The Society for Eighteenth-Century Music is now accepting proposals for the panel “The Eighteenth-Century Miscellany and Its Social Impact,” which will convene at the annual meeting of the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies in Los Angeles, March 17-22, 2015. While the term “miscellany” is perhaps most associated with English literary periodicals containing critical essays, song texts, poetry and drama, as a broader conceptual approach it undergirds much of British culture.
