Our network brings together literary scholars with researchers from other disciplines to facilitate the study of literature’s fascinating relationship with all aspects of visual culture in the long eighteenth century. We are planning to hold panels at two forthcoming major conferences and warmly invite expressions of interest from potential speakers. Conference details as follows:
The first annual panel hosted by the 18th-Century Literature & Visual Culture Research Network at the British Society of Eighteenth-Century Studies Annual Conference, 4-6 January 2019 at St. Hugh’s College, Oxford. The conference theme is “Islands and Isolation” yet papers are welcome on any topic relevant to the network’s concerns.
A panel at the ISECS International Congress on the Enlightenment at the University of Edinburgh, 14-19 July 2019. The theme of the congress is ‘Enlightenment Identities’ yet papers are welcome on any topic relevant to the network’s concerns.
If you wish to participate in either panel please send an abstract (250 words) and a short biography (50 words) to David F. Taylor (D.F.Taylor@warwick.ac.uk) and Claudine van Hensbergen (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please indicate which conference you wish to be considered for (BSECS/ISECS/both).
The deadline for abstracts is Friday 31st August 2018.
