A tour of the exhibition ‘Bountiful Invention: drawings by Gilles-Marie Oppenord (1672-1742) and Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695-1750)’
Senior Curator Dr Juliet Carey concentrates on the materials, techniques and uses of drawings in the hands of these two draughtsmen and designers. Attendees will also have the chance to examine two precious volumes of prints after Oppenord and Meissonier and to consider their role in the construction of the artists’ reputations and in the dissemination of their works.
