Discover the story of Handel’s Water Music, as we commemorate the 300th anniversary of its first performance

Handel composed his much-loved work Water Music for a party held for the King on the River Thames 300 years ago, in July 1717. Handel Librarian Katharine Hogg recounts the story of the event with descriptions from contemporary sources, to accompany a display in the Handel Gallery.
