‘Still glides the Stream’: Wordsworth’s Journey Down the River Duddon Back

Meet the people behind the exhibition!

Join us and celebrate ‘Still glides the Stream’, our new exhibition exploring Wordsworth’s The River Duddon, a series of 33 sonnets tracing an imaginary walk through the Duddon valley in Cumbria. The exhibition is a collaboration between Wordsworth Grasmere and many imaginative and creative artists, musicians, specialist groups and scholars who came together to bring the sonnets to life.

This event brings the people behind the exhibition together for one night only. Speakers include Professor Phil Shaw (University of Leicester); ‘FLAX’: South Cumbrian Textile and Mixed Media Artists; artists Amy Johnson and Katrin Joost (SOURCE); the Norman Nicholson Society; the Duddon History Group; and Orchestras Live and Cumbria Music Hub.

The speakers will talk about their unique contributions to the exhibition, from colourful textile artworks to Norman Nicholson’s typewriter, and the event will conclude with a screening of ‘Reflections on Wordsworth’ introduced by Orchestras Live and Cumbria Music Hub.
