Enjoy a private view of the Enlightened Princesses exhibition followed by expert lectures that explore just how ‘British’ the Georgian royal woman were.
Talks and demonstrations on science, dance and the arts will explore the national identities and cultural influences working in Georgian court and what this meant for wider society. Speakers include:
• Joanna Marschner, Senior Curator at Historic Royal Palaces, who will give an introductory lecture to the Georgian Princesses and an overview of the extraordinary range of their interests
• Matthew Storey, Collections Curator at Historic Royal Palaces who will discuss portraiture relating to the Princesses and how this contributes to the creation of an image of 18th century monarchy
• Vanessa Remington, Senior Curator of Paintings at the Royal Collection Trust, who will give a talk on royal garden art
• Ricardo Barros and Jennifer Thorp from the Mercurius Company, who show how royals were taught dance in the Georgian era and demonstrate some popular dances from the time
This event is for 18+ years only.
