The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, Library & Information History Group, and The Centre for Scottish Culture at the University of Dundee are proud to support:

The Information Landscape in Scotland: 1600-1900 (Saturday 1 July 2017, University of Dundee)

Librarians, researchers and academics are invited to submit proposals for full papers (45 minutes) or lightning talks (10 minutes) on the following themes:

– Public access to information in Scotland within the defined period. – The publishing, distribution and reception of non-fiction and newspapers/periodicals. – Knowledge institutions including (but not limited to) libraries, universities and intellectual societies. – Any other topic of Library and Information History in Scotland within the defined period.

Please send abstracts of no more than 300 words, accompanied by a short paragraph with biographical information to j.s.dye@stir.ac.uk by Wednesday 15 February 2017. Postgraduates and early career scholars are particularly welcome to submit proposals for lightning papers, which will be arranged into panels of 3-4 speakers as appropriate. Speakers will also be encouraged to submit papers for inclusion in the group’s journal, Library & Information History. A full programme, including optional visits on the Friday afternoon before the conference, will be released when booking opens mid-March.
