The Workshop for the Long Eighteenth Century : Call for Papers, Deadline 16 September

The Workshop for the Long Eighteenth Century is a newly launched postgraduate-led workshop that sits within the history faculty at Cambridge. It provides a space for master’s students and PhD students to gather, discuss current scholarship and present their work to their peers. The workshop is opening its call for papers for papers touching upon the Long Eighteenth Century. It is open to submissions that touch upon any geography.

Submissions might address (but need not be limited to):
Revolutions
Sociability
Visual and Material Culture
Language(s) and Soundscapes
Science and Knowledge Regimes
Points of Historiographical Contention
Global Contact, Exchange and Violence
Enlightenment(s)

The workshops will run on alternate Tuesdays, from 5pm to 7pm, featuring two twenty minute papers, followed by a short break for refreshments, and then a Q&A. We will then continue the conversation over drinks or dinner.

The deadline for submissions is 16 September.
